Step Mom Holiday Survival: Part 2

Surviving the Holidays, even for the coolest and most groovy of Step Moms can sometimes be a feat equal to the scaling of Mount Everest…unless…yes, unless, we take it upon ourselves to empower ourselves and “rise above this mess” (love Hootie 🙂 )

Champagne is good lol, but confidence in ourselves is better.

I do two significant things every year pre-Christmas to achieve automatic confidence, so I don’t have to worry about myself when the going gets tough…well, more than two, but two big ones anyway.

#1) I treat myself to new hair…seriously… I book an appointment for a week before Christmas and get a new “do”. This always makes me feel all fresh and sparkly on the inside and the outside, and gives me one less thing to worry about when navigating the Family Holiday scenario.

AND….

#2) I buy or borrow something stunning and comfy to wear, in a great colour that makes me feel like a Rock Star.

Don’t forget, this is your Holiday Season too and you deserve to have a glorious time.

Yes, you do have responsibility for others, but fulfilling your obligations will be so much easier if you go into the Season feeling absolutely D-Y-N-A-M-I-T-E about Yourself. It doesn’t take a lot of time, effort, energy or money to do these couple of little things for yourself, but the return on investment is extraordinary!!

And, think about the message you’d be sending to those around you as you calmly and graciously move through and around every little thing like you’re walking on sunshine..Priceless 🙂

Give yourself permission to take a couple of hours out of this busy time of year to recharge your confidence batteries, give your self-esteem a boost, embrace all that you are, and then go forth with love and peace and joy and enjoy every single splendid moment of this glorious time of year.

Be Well, Be Happy, and Love One Another,

LA xo
